Join us on the last Tuesday of every month for Music Bingo! It’s bingo with a musical twist!

Play for free and check off your bingo cards by identifying the title of the songs played. We create themed playlists with enjoyable and recognizable tunes. Test your music knowledge against your friends or use a song-identifying app and help everyone at your table! Every round uses a different bingo pattern of varying difficulty with prizes for each. The finale is the blackout round. Achieve blackout within that week’s song limit and you could win our progressive jackpot. That means you could win $$$ just for playing!

Kick up your boots at Bentztown’s all-new line dancing night! Every Wednesday, Bentztown is turning up the country vibes and bringing the best of Music City to you. Led by the incredible Sharon Grimet of Sharon’s School of Dance, this fun and easygoing class is perfect for dancers of all skill levels.

$10 at the door (includes your first beer, soda, or rail cocktail!). Come early for happy hour food specials (3-6pm) and Whiskey Wednesday drink deals!

Join us for the 3rd annual Battle of the Bands on Saturday, May 10th from 3-8pm at the Frederick Fairgrounds! Featuring performances by youth bands from Let There Be Rock Schools as we highlight our mission of providing opportunities for youth in Frederick County. Last year's BOTB winner, Kill the King, will also come back to perform at this year's event as a headliner.

The event will feature local food trucks and wine and beer from Hidden Hills Vineyard and Rockwell Brewery, as well as a Kids Zone with face painting and other fun games/activities the whole family can enjoy. 100% of proceeds from this event will benefit youth in Frederick County, helping us to keep our programs affordable and ensure no child is ever turned away based on inability to pay.

The early 1970s. William Miller is 15-years old and an aspiring rock journalist. He gets a job writing for Rolling Stone magazine. His first assignment: tour with the band Stillwater and write about the experience. Miller will get to see what goes on behind the scenes in a famous band, including the moments when things fall apart, and for him, it will be a period of new experiences and finding himself.

Celebrate Maryland's ironmaking history at the 7th Annual Maryland Iron Festival. Enjoy a weekend of live blacksmithing demonstrations and hands-on casting and molding with experts from Hopewell Furnace. You don't want to miss the iconic IRON POUR with 3000 degree molten iron! Join in family activities with Keystone Ironworks; take a guided tour of the historic Harriet Chapel; watch the kids play colonial games and activities; and listen to live music. You can shop the artist and maker market; stroll the grounds and watch plein air artists at work. Test your strength at the whimsical cannonball toss and anvil-lifting contest, and tour the iron furnace ruins. Visit the Museum of the Ironworker, see the F.W. Fraley General Store, and the Collier's Log House. You're sure to work up an appetite, so relax at the beer and wine garden and grab a bite at the food trucks. And there's nothing like an icy snow cone or a treat from the old fashioned bake sale to end the day on a sweet note. It's all surrounded by the scenic beauty of Catoctin State Park and historic Catoctin Furnace, and all at the Maryland Iron Festival, the original heavy metal weekend! 

Festival Parking Location and Shuttle Service to The Maryland Iron Festival

  • Maryland Iron Festival parking is located at the Manor Parking Area off Route 15 (6709 Cunningham Falls Park Road, Thurmont, MD 21788)
  • Use shuttle service, ADA and wheelchair compliant, (running on a loop from the Manor Parking Lot to and from the Furnace Green) or hike the Iron Trail (1/4 mile and 40 steep steps over Route 15) to access the festival.

A Note On Accessibility

  • The structures are close together with unpaved trails and grass surfaces surrounding the majority of the buildings. The Museum of the Ironworker is ADA accessible. A portable ramp to the Collier’s Log House is available for access. The African American Cemetery Interpretive Trail is ADA compliant; however, certain access points are not. With a wide selection of craft beers and an historic atmosphere, this firehouse turned taphouse provides the perfect setting for our old-timey themed show. Join us at Idiom Brewing Co. in Frederick, MD for pretty lettering! Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, you’ll be introduced to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink in this workshop. We will cover all the basics and prepare you to add those unique lettered details to your snail mail, wedding paper goods, home decor, and more! The perfect crafty night out!

Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper, and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop!

Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food or drinks (food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the class, too!). Class will start promptly at 6 PM

Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics, and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style!  If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!

A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child if you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We ask that a ticketed adult accompany anyone under the age of 16 at all times.
