See the Boats Day or Night!

The 2024-25 Sailing Through the Winter Solstice display will take place from November 2024 to March 2025.

You can view the boats anytime day or night. In fact, you may want to take a look while it's light out and again after it gets dark and the lights come on. Lights typically turn on at sunset, so this is a great time to see them both ways.

Sailing Through the Winter Solstice is a fundraiser - visitors can vote on their favorite boat, with donations supporting local non-profit organizations. The 2023-24 season raised more than $133,000 for charities in Frederick County!  You can support this year's fleet here!

Kids and adults are invited to drop-in and get creative together on art activities at family tables! Each session features a themed activity. Construct hanging mobiles inspired by Alexander Calder. $2 per participant. Please, no large groups.

Price: $2 per participant

19 Crimes

Frederick, Maryland is a growing city filled with friendly citizens who are quick with a smile and eager to help their neighbors. But they are increasingly frustrated with some outliers unwilling to follow a few basic rules of common courtesy. To solve the problem, they have updated and reinstated the "19 Crimes," established in 1783 by the British Government. Tonight's party is an opportunity for friends and family to say farewell to those convicted before their banishment from Frederick.

As a guest, you will be playing a detective searching for clues and interrogating suspects to solve whodunnit or a suspect giving out information, casting suspicion on others, and proclaiming your innocence. Everyone plays at this interactive event. This is a blast. But watch out, this is so much fun, you might die laughing. Bwahahahah.

Costumes

It is recommended you wear all-black cocktail attire or come in stripes as a "jailbird."

The Cunningham Falls State Park Maple Syrup Festival will be held on March 8-9 and 15-16.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites the public to celebrate the Maple Syrup Festival at Cunningham Falls State Park this March.

Guests can watch staff demonstrate the traditional way of boiling sap into syrup, listen to live bluegrass music, and take a hayride through the Maple Grove. Events take place each day of the event from 10AM to 2PM. A sign language interpreter will be stationed at the Sugar Shack on both Sundays. Syrup-making demonstrations and hayrides take place every hour on the hour. $5 donation per person is requested at the entrance.
