Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin' " and "It's Raining on Prom Night" recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.

A week of extraordinary musical performances is coming to Frederick County this August, and all concerts are free admission. The 2026 GreenSpring Music Festival transforms historic churches and intimate venues across Thurmont into concert halls from Aug. 9-15, bringing world-renowned artists alongside emerging talent for eight performances that promise to captivate audiences of all ages.
Stars and Prodigies Take the Stage
This year's lineup reads like a who's who of classical music excellence. Concert pianist Alexander Kordzaia, classical guitarist Colin Davin, violinist Rachel Zhao, and harpists Abigail Kent and Krista Hagglund headline the Festival. Plus, excitement surrounds two piano prodigies who are making waves in the classical music world: 12-year-old Vance McGraw and 16-year-old Caleb Coyne. "These two young musicians are absolutely extraordinary," said Lynnelle Ediger, Executive Director. "Hearing them perform live is an experience you won't forget." The Festival also showcases 13 talented early-career musicians who hail from across the nation and as far away as China through the competitive Festival Fellows program, offering audiences a rare glimpse at tomorrow's classical music stars today.

From tribute artists and oldies to Afrofunk and bluegrass, Celebrate Frederick's Summer Concert Series showcases professional musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. Previous artists have included jazz legend Charlie Byrd, Spyro Gyro’s Scott Ambush and Julio Fernandez, country chart-climber Cleve Francis, Bluegrass favorite Railroad Earth, L.A.-based Latin group Incendio, bluesman Tom Principato, and many more.
All concerts are free to the public. In lieu of admission, the Summer Concert Series Committee invites attendees to bring a canned food item to donate to the Frederick Food Bank. All donations can be brought to the Drees Homes Information Booth.
Rain Policy: Concert cancellations are announced on the specific concert event page on www.celebratefrederick.com and will be posted on Celebrate Frederick's Facebook Page and Instagram. Every effort is made to post cancellation notices by 5:00 PM on the day of the concert.
Price: While each performance is FREE to the public, we would like to invite each visitor to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Enjoy a beautiful, guided paddle on a 5.5-mile stretch of the Potomac River where Great Blue Herons and other wildlife are often spotted. Continue your journey and partake in a craft beer tasting at Smoketown Brewing Station after your kayaking trip.
Enjoy a flight of tasty beer in an upbeat environment, with seating available in the tasting room or the outside patio. Tour behind the glass wall and speak to the brewery team about Smoketown's hand-crafted beer. Trip includes a tasty flight and personal pizza. Add on to a great day with Smoketown's delicious food selections like their "Apps 'n Snacks," paninis, and dessert.

Enjoy paddling by the light of the setting sun and experience the serenity and wildlife of the evening river. The evening is the perfect time to witness great blue herons, egrets, kingfishers, and the occasional eagle on the river! This is a guided trip.
The trip will be for a duration of 3-6 miles, depending on water levels and sunset times. Only single kayaks are available to rent on this trip as the put-in requires double carrying the boats down a gravel hill.
To make this trip a fun and convenient overnighter, be sure to make reservations at the Brunswick Family campground which is the launching spot for the trip. Show up a bit early to set up your tent or camper before you take off down the river.
Groups of 10 or more can request other dates and times.
