Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical.

Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin' " and "It's Raining on Prom Night" recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation.

An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals place Grease among the world's most popular musicals.

Join us for our Kids’ Workshop Series at the Farm, a weekly summer program packed with creativity, movement, farm fun, and ice cream! Held at our pavilion rain or shine, these hands-on workshops are designed for kids ages 3–12 and offer a new theme and activity each week.

June 2 – Week 1: Family Farmyard Bingo. Play farm-themed bingo with animal sounds, dry-erase cards, and fun prizes. 

June 9 – Week 2: Kids Ice Cream Lab. Taste ice cream, learn how it’s made, help churn ice cream, enjoy games, and enter a drawing for free scoops. 

June 16 – Week 3: Music & Movement. Dance, play instruments, twirl ribbons, and move to fun music. 

June 23 – Week 4: Highland Cow Painting. Paint a farm-inspired masterpiece during this creative art session. 

June 30 – Week 5: Tie Dye Creations. Twist, tie, and dye t-shirts or bandanas to take home. 

July 7 – Week 6: Kids Ice Cream Lab. Another chance to explore ice cream science with tasting, churning, games, and coloring. 

July 14 – Week 7: Farm-Themed Story Time. Stories, music, and games inspired by life on the farm. 

July 21 – Week 8: Water Works. Cool off with water-themed games and summer fun (weather permitting). 

July 28 – Week 9: Farm-Themed Bingo. A fresh round of farm bingo fun with prizes. 

August 4 – Week 10: Science Crafts. Hands-on science-inspired crafts that spark curiosity and creativity. 

August 11 – Week 11: Kids Ice Cream Lab. Our fan-favorite ice cream lab returns with tasting, churning, and games. 

August 18 – Week 12: Tie Dye Day. Another colorful tie-dye experience with take-home creations. 

August 25 – Week 13: Craft & Photo Booth. End the summer with fun crafts and a photo booth to capture the memories.

Enjoy free, high-quality musical entertainment on Sunday nights in June, July, and August at the Baker Park Band Shell.

From tribute artists and oldies to Afrofunk and bluegrass, Celebrate Frederick's Summer Concert Series showcases professional musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. Previous artists have included jazz legend Charlie Byrd, Spyro Gyro’s Scott Ambush and Julio Fernandez, country chart-climber Cleve Francis, Bluegrass favorite Railroad Earth, L.A.-based Latin group Incendio, bluesman Tom Principato, and many more.

All concerts are free to the public. In lieu of admission, the Summer Concert Series Committee invites attendees to bring a canned food item to donate to the Frederick Food Bank. All donations can be brought to the Drees Homes Information Booth.

Rain Policy: Concert cancellations are announced on the specific concert event page on www.celebratefrederick.com and will be posted on Celebrate Frederick's Facebook Page and Instagram. Every effort is made to post cancellation notices by 5:00 PM on the day of the concert.

Price: While each performance is FREE to the public, we would like to invite each visitor to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Creating a pet portrait using paint, the glass, and unconventional techniques results in a unique and dynamic piece of art that captures the essence of your beloved pet. This portrait blends traditional painting with innovative methods, providing a modern twist to classical pet portraits. 

First, we will need you to send us an image of your pet that is a close up head shot where the neck is shown, if possible. Send to [email protected]. We will use fun techniques and tools to create a background with vibrant paint or whatever reminds you of your beloved pet.  Then we create layers by creating a fun abstract likeness of your pet.  I'll keep the details a surprise. 

The finished piece is not just a portrait but a vibrant expression of your pet’s spirit, framed in an eye-catching and innovative way that will be a conversation starter and a cherished keepsake for years to come. 

All materials and tools included. You will take home the complete framed masterpiece.

Monocacy National Battlefield hosts World Ranger Day 2026! Join us as we celebrate World Ranger Day, an international observance of Park Rangers of all backgrounds and jobs dedicated to natural and cultural landmarks the world over.
