Christmas is a week away, and we can hardly believe it! There are so many traditions with Christmas that we look forward to in Frederick County. All the stores decorated shop windows, lights strung all around town, and the boats glowing on Carroll Creek. It is an amazing place this time of year! The joyful feeling that overcomes this time of year comes from the community. The community is covered in lights, and the community is coming together to help those in need.
We want to highlight some of Charis’s favorite light displays around Frederick County. So, buckle up, grab your hot cocoa, turn up the Christmas tunes, and hit the road to check out these decked-out homes for the holidays!
1. Sailing Into the Winter Solstice at Carroll Creek Park, Frederick, MD (November 2021–Feb 2022)
The annual Sailing Into the Winter Solstice is here at the beautiful Carroll Creek Park in Frederick. Every evening, the lights bring a joyous and magical light parade that is sure to give you the holiday spirit. The proceeds from the Sailing Into Winter Solstice display will go to local charities.
2. 12603 W Oak Drive, Mount Airy, MD 21771
Pull up to this home and look for the sign and turn the radio dial to a certain station. Watch the lights dance to the holiday tunes. The display is a magnificent art display.
3. 506 Eventide Court, Mount Airy, MD 21771
Stop by this holiday season and enjoy the dancing lights from the comfort of your warm car. Shows will run until the day after Christmas. Look for the sign Tune your radio to the posted station and enjoy the dancing lights to our favorite Christmas songs.
4. 10330 W. Hyatt Road, Ijamsville, MD 21754
This display is a free walk-thru! Christmas Lights and Cartoon Character Display. This year they are doing a Medical Fundraiser so any donations are appreciated!
5. 2nd Annual Clover Ridge Light Fight – Clover Ridge, Frederick, MD 21702
